Cheddar has most of the shops and facilities you will need. Either up and around the Gorge, or down in the main village.
Food StoresSainsbury's
Newly opened (replacing the previous Budgens) this is a mid-range store with almost everything you need, including a fair Sainsbury Organic (SO) range. Costcutter A small but well stocked convenience store, very convenient to Gorge View Cottage - just 5 minutes walk, if that, cutting through West Lynne to the Tweentown service station. The have organic milk sourced from the organic herd at Bruton. Spar A reasonable store at the Shell garage on the Axbridge side of the village. This is where you can get logs during winter. Farmers MarketsWe have some great farmer's markets selling the best of local produce. Always busy and bustling. And often in wonderful market square settings.
Axbridge First Saturday of every month; 09.00-13.00 In the medieval square. A 30 minute easy cycle ride from Cheddar, along the reservoir. Why not stay for lunch at one of the pubs on the market square. Wells Every Wednesday; 09.00-14.30 In the market square close to the Cathedral. Also on Saturdays a good market but not a full Farmers' Market |
