DATA PROTECTION
Data protection is an important area especially for online and digital processes. As a proudly ethical micro-businesses we would like to assure our guests that aim to comply fully with GDPR provisions. This includes the following points:
- We only hold the minimum of contact data for guests and enquirers in order to ensure we can communicate effectively with them before during, and if needed after their stay.
- Contact data is typically only name and email address. If you have provided us with a phone number we ill only keep this for one year before deleting this.
- In exceptional circumstances we may also hold your postal address if you prefer to communicate through standard mail rather than electronically.
- We keep a full email history of communication between enquirers, guests and ourselves.
- All data is kept on our local computers, behind a modern firewall system, protected by strong passwords, and with up-to-date anti-virus security software
- Backups are made but held securely on the premises and not in "the cloud".
- We only take payment by BACS to our bank account, or by cheque and we keep no digital record of any bank details. If guests choose to pay by PayPal or credit card that is all handled by PayPal under their own strict and secure systems.
- We do no direct marketing to our past guest list.
- Any guests can request to see what data we have on record and we will endeavour to provide this promptly and at not cost
- Any guests can request their data to be deleted and we will again endeavour to complete this promptly.
